  1. "Lawless" by Nora Roberts
Great reading! There is always something that will keep you reading. Not slow moving at all. You get hooked by the first chapter wanting to learn more about Jake, Sarah and how she is going to fit into Lone Bluff. Then their is Lucius, hope everyone is lucky to have a friend like him, even with his bad habits. Nora Roberts is quick to make you feel as if you are right there with her characters. She describes Lone Bluff in such detail and everyone in the town. You feel like you just rode in on a stage coach yourself. I highly recommend this and any of her other books. -Samantha Key thekeyfamily@live.com

This book makes you look at the reality of child abduction and realize how very fortunate we are to have our children safe. It is sharply written, explores triumph and tragedy. A Must read!

  4. "The Law is a Lady" by Nora Roberts
What a wonderful modern day love story. Nora Roberts was able to mesh the hustle and bustle of LA with a quite, slow paced life of a small town. This story helps remind you that no matter who you are, how strong you think you are, we are all vulnerable to true love. A fast read but a great read. -Samantha Key thekeyfamily@live.com

  5. "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" by Stephenie Meyer

Definitely not a stand alone book, this novella does make a nice side note to the 3rd installment of the Twilight Saga,"Eclipse".
Meyer brings insight, not only to the character Bree Tanner, but also gives a behind the scenes glimpse into the the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits.

  7. Never Far From Home by Mary Ellis..a sweet, somewhat predictable book about an Amish girl who falls in love with an "Englisher". Written well enough that I cared about the characters and sometimes "Sweet" is what you need.

  8. The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Meyer...a good, though short book. It is an interesting exercise to pull a very minor character from a plot and write her own story. Pretty cool read...

  9. Red, White, and Liberal by Alan Colmes ... I despise both political parties almost equally so I expected to vomit my way through this. The book was presented fair and unapologetic. He seems to have his facts in order and presents his opinions on things that have happened.. This is an older book and deals with such current events as the OJ trial and the Lewinsky scandal. Worth reading.

  10. The Hostage by W.E.B. Griffin... This was a generic version of Clancy. The story revolves around an american agent who is rich and resourceful and popular with the president for his candor. I enjoyed it for what it was, a face paced, light, summer read.

  16. "The Visitor" by Lori Wick. This book was the third installment in the delightful English Garden series. The stories have begun to be predictable, but they are enjoyable none the less. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

  17. NIGHT ROAD is an inspiring, heartfelt story about love, friendship, forbidden love, acceptance, tragedy, anger, loss and ultimately forgiveness. Lexi Baill is a lonely teen in search of a real home with real friends and family.. a place to belong. When she meets Mia Farraday a fellow loner and kindred spirit, she is immediately welcomed into the Farraday family where Jude, the mom, treats her like a second daughter. Tragedy strikes. Everything changes. A life is lost, another destroyed, the family left with regret and despair. The struggle begins. This story is devastating and heartbreaking as it journeys through many thought-provoking, soul-searching levels in their search for healing. Impacting and poignant, this wonderful story line.
